St. Winwaloe, Gunwalloe
The Church of the Storms! A 12th century church in a wild place of peace and beauty. It nestles out of the wind, beneath a rocky outcrop, beside a sandy beach where Atlantic rollers pound against the Lizard Peninsular. The church is on the site of St. Winwaloe's 6th century monastery.
Church services – 3 p.m. Sunday Holy Communion (BCP except on 1st Sunday of the month when Celtic tradition is followed), 3 hours Quiet Devotion on Good Friday.
