Holy Trinity, Melbecks

Description

In Upper Swaledale, perched on the fell side, is a small, simple, mid 19th century church - Holy Trinity - which still keeps its old parish name of Melbecks. There is a steep ascent, part path and part steps. The surrounding magnificent countryside is visible through the clear glass windows. Visitors report a strong sense of peace and presence.

Standard opening times: Open every day. Eucharist 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 11 am.

A visitor comments: The atmosphere is very peaceful and conducive to prayer and meditation. We sent an e-mail to say we were coming and the hospitaller met us and showed us round.
