The Grade 1 Listed Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin sits on a moated island adjacent to 'Church Lake' on the Orchardleigh Estate in Somerset and appears to have been built in the last quarter of the 13th century.

The church is on an island accessible via a footbridge and with views across the lake. it is a tranquil peaceful setting, ideal for prayer, meditation and reflection.

the church is open at all times. Holy Communion services are held there on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Follow the A362 north from Frome for nearly two miles. Turn right past the lodge (pictured in Gallery section) - signposted Orchardleigh Estate. Turn right after 1.7 miles, signposted church. Park in the car park over the water from the church. Cross over the bridge.

There is wheelchair access, and there are toilet facilities on the island. It is suitable for quiet days for individuals or groups, and the hospitaller is available on request.
