St. Mary the Virgin, Throwleigh
Description
In a peaceful setting, this 15th-16th century church has a fine example of an Easter sepulchre and roof bosses in the North aisle including three hares and a green man. There is a carefully managed churchyard to encourage both wild flowers and butterflies.
The church is open all day every day. 11.15 am Morning Prayer on 2nd Sunday of the month.

By car: On A382 North of Moretonhampstead turn left at Whiddon Down, and after 200 yards turn right to Throwleigh. In village go past the cross, the church is ahead.
No public transport.
On foot: Follow signs to Throwleigh church in centre of village. Also on the Mariners’ Way.

There are steps into the church. Toilet facilities attached to the church. Suitable for quiet days for individuals or groups.
