In this peaceful place is an inscription denoting my ancestor Robert Newell 1670 to 1750 is buried beneath a slab in the chancel floor.
A wonderful, quiet, tranquil place of worship. Thank you for leaving the door open on the occasions that I can visit from Canterbury.
Magical!

This is a place filled with tranquility - sadly not as well known as it deserves, even by the people of Milford Haven and despite teh untiring work of Canon Howells who was instrumental in its restoration in 1936

The gathering for the AGM in Birmingham was good. Gwilym's meditation was profound. The reports from the intervisitaion were encouraging and the formation of a core group to advise on future developments important.
The worrying thing is there is so much opportunity and heaps of things to be done but we're all volunteers and time is short.
Want to come and help? I expect we'd be glad to have you!

Richard Woodham comments:- There's been a debate within the Network around the term hospitaller. On the pro-side there is an arguement from history. The monastic tradition has a person responsible for the welcome of visitors, "Let every visitor be received as Christ!" writes Benedict in his Rule. On the con-side it is a bit of an odd word!
I favour hostilaller as it suggests someone focussed on the task of welcome!

In this place God is ever-present in the power of the Archangel - it is a place of purification in the light of the Sun.
I have a question: Why, in the new leaflet for this place, has the term "hospitaller" been replaced with "stewards"?

Richard the Webshepherd writes:- It was good to visit St.Pancras as part of the SPPN Inter-visitation process.
St. Pancras is all that a smallpilgrimplace should be quiet in the midst of bustle - not retail space in the midst of rs - ancient in a modern precinct - a still place in the midst of the turning world.
Congratulations to Averil and the People of God in the centre of Exeter for keeping the rumour of God alive!

Thanks for the feedback, Paul! I had heard on the grapevine that it was open again but only at certain times. The hermit St. Tecwyn who first set up his llan in the plave knew a bit about Feng Shui! (It translates from the Chinese as wind/water!)

I went to the church in August 2008 to find where some of my ancestors were buried and was stunned by the atmosphere here. A fantastic place to come and contemplate, sit and think, or just look at the beautiful views across the esturay. A truly magical place. I was also lucky enough to find the church open. The simple decor inside added to the feeling of peace. The lake just under the chiurch is also a peacful place to sit on a summer's afternoon. Incredible.

Thanks to Katherine for the encouragement to me and the others who enable the SPPN. I'm fired up anew with the thought of so many of us pilgrims making our own journey's finding friendship and something deeper as we go.
Here's me waving to Katherine and my other brothers and siters across cyberspace

I love this website - we've had it as our home page for several months now, and it is a great doorway to the busyness of the web. I often happen on bits of this website that make me think - a picture of a quiet place perhaps - and tonight your thoughts on pilgrimage struck home. Thank you for a lovely website.

In the spring and early summer the churchyard is rich with meadow flowers ox eye daisys, meadow saxifrage and lady's bedstaw. It gets a mow after they have flowered sometime using traditional methods. I wonder how many others have scythed God's Acre before me.

These places of open welcome are so needed by the church today. An open hospitable church says more than any sermon about how a church community wants to welcome all as God does. I am delighted to be part of this network. Do come to visit St Mary the Virgin, Great Henny
